Mar Roxas’ was highlighted here as a Superman or as a saviour, more of showbiz actor vibes. Wherein it did not matter how busy the citizens were. As he walked in, people in the market rushed over Roxas, there and then these people cried to Roxas. The good thing here was, the delivery of the complaints were right to words and addressed appropriately, and still the same context until this day. The problems are addressed properly. However, the campaign ad did not show any tangible solution, which also reflects that in real life---actual happening, it is not evidently seen or felt by these marginalized citizens.
Frame 1: Roxas walks in, a teen boy pauses from pedicab and rushes over Roxas. The teen boy called the attention of his community.
It is somewhat acceptable that if there is a candidate for a higher position, obviously, the citizens who are deprived, will take a chance to get express help. Roxas can go down to its extent as he helps within the market, not just the citizens rush over him. Roxas’ identity of appeal is like an actor not someone who can make change in their community.
Frame 2: Little girl shouts the name of Roxas
In reality at this age they do not know about these people, it is much better if there is a mom and introduces Roxas to her child and instructs her child to run to Roxas.
Frame 3: Shows the basket of vegetables, it is insufficient for the quantity of the family. Complains about how expensive the goods are.
Yes, the government has something to do with the price hikes, the portrayal must show how localized resources for the selling of their goods within the community to maintain worthy prices.
Frame 4: Laborer, walks closer to Roxas, states his dissatisfaction of being categorized in minimum wage. “Kayod kami ng kayod, nakaw naman sila ng nakaw.”
If the campaign ad will be reworked, Roxas can present his platform regarding the solution to make these laborers give assurance. Not just ending up crying with complaints.
Frame 5: A teen who stopped education due to circumstances.
The presentation here can be improved, Roxas will give alternative plans or security for the teen.
Frame 6: A senior citizen explains what she has been through to get help or aid from charity work.
In this scene, Roxas must have said the change of the system for charity work, it more accessible for those who are in need, especially for the medically ill or senior citizens.
Frame 7: A senior citizen shares his thoughts that many politicians who have seen their situations= but only Roxas who stopped and observed them. “Sana hindi ka magbago.”
Roxas could have said he will always be present and accountable as he will govern in their community.
